Civilians living with disabilities in South Sudan’s Jubek State have criticized members of the state legislative assembly for deliberating on a draft bill for disabled persons without their participation last week.
Joko Sule, Information Secretary of Jubek’s Disabled Union, told radio Tamazuj yesterday that they were not involved by the state parliament during its deliberation on a bill for people with disabilities last week.
Sule accused the state government of failing to implement laws concerning the disabled group in the state. However, he admitted that the government is currently implementing some provisions related to education and employment. He called on the state government to solve all the challenges facing them in public life.
