Dilling hospital is short on doctors

The Dilling Hospital in South Kordofan, Sudan, faces a shortage of qualified doctors, as well as rooms and medical equipment.

A doctor at the hospital explained that the hospital receives 50 to 60 patients a day who are suffering from several illnesses. He said also that they recruited ten nurses on the budget of the hospital to care for 116 beds. Furthermore, the hospital has only one specialist among a number of general medical practitioners.

“We are faced with a burden of problems as our hospital lacks power and water as well as good infrastructure because it was established in 1927”, the doctor outlined.

The Dilling Hospital director said they raised this issue in the recent health conference held in Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, but without positive response.
