The former commissioner of Twic County in the defunct Warrap State has been released after spending nearly a month in detention for allegedly inciting local youths to disrupt the state governor's visit to Wunrock County in July.

Biar Biar, former commissioner of Twic County, told Radio Tamazuj today that he was released on 19 September. “I was arrested on 19 July, and I spent nearly a month in prison. I was arrested because the security officials said I disrupted the governor’s visit and we allegedly attempted to plot a coup,” he said.

Biar denied the allegations that he had incited a group of youth to disrupt the state governor’s visit to Mayen Abun town in Wunrock County. He pointed out that they were released without charges.

Biar pointed out that he was released together with six others, while threatening to sue those who arrested him without clear charges.
