The United Advisors Company, one of the companies operating the deportation of Southern Sudanese, affirms deportations continue despite the bad weather. The company transports Southern Sudanese living in a returnee transit camp in Renk, near the Sudanese border, back to their areas of origin.

Mr. Maher, the company’s manager, states that the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is still working on the contracts with companies working in this field. The IOM assists Southern Sudanese returnees.

The company’s manager added that a boat just left Renk and is heading towards Juba. From there returnees will continue to travel to their areas of origin. Mr. Maher explained that one of the reasons for the current slow migration process is luggage overload, which reduces the number of returnees per trip. He also said that small boats are used to transport returnees who come from areas close to Renk.
