Defence minister says army will deploy along the border

The Sudanese defence minister summoned the State Council on Monday to meet and discuss the current security situation along the border with South Sudan, following the ‘attack on Heglig’. Abdul Rahim Muhammed Hussein told the Council ‘a new reality has been imposed on the Sudanese army now needing to secure 2,250 kilometres along the border.’ He said the army which is ‘controling Blue Nile state’ will stretch to extend its dominance across the state of South Kordofan.
