The estimate of the number of the people who died during the recent intra-communal violence in Pochalla County has increased, bringing the total number of dead to six people, according a source who was evacuated from the area.
The fight which started last Monday continued for four days of unrest in both counties. Residents were forced to flee their homes following the heavy fighting between youths from Pochalla North and South counties.
Attempts by both commissioners of the two counties to contain the situation were unsuccessful as things went out of their control. Many residents including women and children sought refuge at the SPLA barrack in area.
The IDPs who are taking refuge at the SPLA barrack report limited food, shelter and water. The area is now reportedly calm but unpredictable after the attacking youths were repelled from the area.
