Blue Nile refugees in Bambasi camp in Ethiopia expressed concern about the health situation in the camp after a woman suffering from jaundice died after giving birth.
Last Wednesday a woman suddenly died after giving birth in the refugee camp. The incident caused concerns among the Blue Nile refugees due to the suspected cause of death, according to a source in the camp who preferred anonymity owing to fears of repression by authorities.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, another source in the camp noted the post-mortem report in the hospital indicated that the woman was unknowingly suffering from jaundice.
Jaundice is a symptom that can develop as part of various diseases. It refers to the yellowish discoloration of the skin and whites of the eyes.
