The Secretary General of the Democratic Change (DC) party in Wau State, John Ajang Madut has quit and joined the ruling SPLM party led by President Salva Kiir.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, Madut said failure by the party led by agriculture minister, Onyoti Adigo to achieve its intended vision forced him to resign.

“The name of the Democratic Change party is clear, but we have not changed anything and we have completely failed yet at the first stage of implementing the peace agreement,” he said.

Madut further said he opted to join the SPLM party because it’s the only party capable of fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of South Sudanese.

Madut, who said that the Democratic Change party has collapsed, announced his resignation at the ruling party’s secretariat in Wau town on 26 July.
