David Yau Yau appoints administrators, urges development

Greater Pibor Administrative Area leader David Yau Yau issued a decree appointing ten officials to his administration.

The executive orders went into effect from 26 October, announced South Sudan Television (SSTV) Monday.

The appointed administrators include:

  • Kadi Kedicho Thawan, Local Government and Law Enforcement
  • Brigadier General Baba Isaac Nyathi, Humanitarian Affairs
  • Rev. Hassan Wawu, Education
  • Okony Simon Morris, Finance
  • Giroch thany Korok, Physical Infrastructure
  • Gore Hassan Odiel, Agriculture
  • Rev. Jeremiah Lotiboi Korok, Animal Resources
  • Sam David, Information
  • James Chacha Konyi, Health
  • William Bal Thabo, Culture, Youth and Sport

Yau Yau also issued another decree appointing Rev. Oroso Lekine Daki as secretary-general for Pibor area.

Separately, Yau Yau, speaking to Radio Tamazuj at the Fourth State Governors’ Forum in Juba where he is participating as an observer, said that Pibor area is witnessing social peace and stability between the communities.

He said the area was entirely affected by poor conditions of roads and lack of development and urged the presidency to help the newly created administrative area.

The former rebel leader also called on the two parties to the conflict to stop the fighting and bring about peace and stability in South Sudan.
