Leaders of the Ghulfan and Dar El Naila tribes in Sudan’s South Kordofan state have started to implement the peace resolutions that they came up during a peace conference held by the two feuding tribes last month, according to Dar El Naila leader Bukhari Mohamed El Zubair.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Wednesday, Omda El Zubair said a joint monitoring team had been formed in order to supervise the implementation of the agreement reached by the two sides.

The tribal leader further said the native administration representing the two tribes has already started to implement the peace resolutions especially on payment of blood money in installments starting from 1 April.

However, El Zubair complained of undisciplined elements that stir up sedition between the two tribes, while emphasizing the need for arrest of such persons.

The Dar El Naila leader also commended the role played by the UN agencies and the United Nations Development Program in particular in facilitating the peace and reconciliation conference.
