Curfew imposed in Magwi County, E Equatoria over insecurity

The commissioner of Magwi County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state issued a decision to impose a curfew in an attempt to reduce insecurity.

The commissioner of Magwi County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state issued a decision to impose a curfew in an attempt to reduce insecurity.

Magwi County Commissioner Ben Kingston told Radio Tamazuj the 11:00 pm to 5:00 am curfew was imposed since 18 September.

Kingston said the decision will remain effective until the security situation improves. The commissioner warned against violating his order, saying that the violators will be punished.        

The move comes after robbers broke into Eden Commercial Bank, Magwi Branch, and ran away with 159,720 SSP and six hundred US dollars. The robbers also killed a policeman guarding the bank.
