Sudan’s Ministry of Trade on Wednesday said after a meeting with his South Sudanese counterpart that they agreed to resume cross-border trade with South Sudan.
Minister Haatim Al-Sir told reporters in Khartoum that their meeting with the South Sudanese delegation in Khartoum was very successful and resolved to immediately resume cross-border trade.
He further said the two sides also agreed to end illegal border trade and emphasized the importance of private sector participation in the cross-border trade.
Al-Sir pointed out that the two parties agreed on the exchange of experiences and capacity building and the coming days will witness flow of goods between the two countries which will benefit the citizens of the two countries.
For his part, South Sudan’s Minister of Trade, Moses Hassan said they were committed to immediately activate the border trade relations between the two countries.
