Criminal court sentences two to death in East Darfur

A special criminal court in Sudan’s East Darfur state on Tuesday has sentenced two people to death on charges of murder and armed robbery.

A special criminal court in Sudan’s East Darfur state on Tuesday has sentenced two people to death on charges of murder and armed robbery.

According to SUNA, the two men hired a car from an individual to carry them from Ed-Daein to Abu Sufian area in the northern part of Abu Karinka, however, on the way; they killed him and stole his vehicle.

The judge of the criminal court in Ad-Daein, Habib Mohamed Ahmed, found the two individuals guilty under articles 130 and 175 of the 1991 Penal Code and sentenced them to death by hanging.

The court also sentenced the accused to a decade-long prison term for violating articles 26 and 42 of the Arms and Ammunition Act.
