Gunmen wearing army uniforms stole 50,000 South Sudanese Pounds from the Western Equatoria State Coordination Office in the capital Juba on Wednesday night, according to witnesses and officials.

Eyewitnesses living near the office which is opposite Juba University told Radio Tamazuj that they saw more than ten armed people in uniform in all corners of the office compound and heard the watchman crying for help.

A senior official at the office said 50,000 SSP we taken.

The police’s Criminal Investigation Department arrived at the scene Thursday morning and launched an investigation.

Driver killed in Juba

Two gunmen men shot dead a boda boda driver Wednesday evening according to eyewitness speaking to Radio Tamazuj.

The witness said the gunmen had tried to steal the motorcycle but the driver escaped. They followed him closely before shooting him in the back. The incident took place near Midan Rambu.

Break-in at Rock City

Three armed men attacked a house owner in Rock City of Juba town and broke two of his teeth, according to a witness.

Three men all armed and wearing plain SPLA uniform broke into the house of a man named Mayien and hit him with their gun butts. The man is now receving treatment at Juba Teaching Hospital. The incident occurred around 11 pm Wednesday night.

Neighbors showed up to rescue the attacked man, catching one of them. The other two ran away. The one who was caught was arrested and is in jail pending investigation.

Two dead in boda boda shooting

Two people were shot dead in Hai Referendum area of Juba on Thursday at around 1:00 PM when two gunmen attempted to steal their motorbike, an eyewitness said.

The witness said the two men died on the spot and the gunmen were arrested by a group of SPLA soldiers who were passing by. The criminal told the soldiers that they were sent by some people to steal, the witness said.
