Police shoot suspected criminal dead
Police killed a man while following him in the Hai Lokelli area of Juba Saturday night, according to residents.
One source said the police killed the man after many failed attempts to arrest him.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 PM when police of 777 opened fire on the man who was driving a hard-top car. The man was suspected to have stolen the car.
The bullet hit the man on his neck just when he reached gate of his house. Police took his body.
Thieves steal community water solar panels in Torit
Four water solar panels were stolen from the Enyif residential area in Torit, Eastern Equatoria state on 22 August.
The panels were installed by the South Sudan Red Cross. The Red Cross state director Janet Lakony Carlo offered a reward for anyone who gives information leading to recovery of the panels.
The panels were meant to provide clean water in order to prevent cholera outbreak.
Police officer shot dead in Juba
Gunmen on Thursday shot dead a police officer in Juba after calling the 777 police.
As the 777 police force arrived in the site of the callers they were met by with gunfire, a source said.
One of the gunmen was injured who later found to be an SPLA solider from Tiger Battalion. He is currently under treatment at Juba Teaching Hospital.
Insecurity along Abyei’s main road
There had been six robberies this month along the Agok-Abyei road.
In the latest incident, a community police officer was beaten with sticks and his property stolen on a stretch of road between Majbong and Abathok in Abyei area.
The officer, James Anguei, was attacked less than a kilometer from Majbong police station, Abyei Today reported.
Local residents are demanding police step up patrols. Police have advised people not to venture after 11 at night.
