Crime roundup: Gunfire at bank, boda-bodas attacked

Gunmen open fire at KCB in Munuki

 Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in Munuki near Meidan Rambu came under heavy gunfire on Thursday morning at 2 a.m. when unknown gunmen reportedly tried to break into the bank.

The attackers exchanged fire with security guards at the bank, according to local residents. 

Thieves steal boda-bodas in Juba

A group of thieves stole four commercial motorbikes in Custom Market in Juba, according to witnesses. The gang approached a group of commercial motorbike operators at around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday and started beating them brutally before taking four of the bikes and running away.

The case was reported to SPLA Military Police near the area, the sources said. The force then began to trace the criminals who were thought to have headed towards Hai 107 in Munuki. At Souk Hai 107, two of the thieves were arrested and two commercial motor bikes recovered.

“The other two thieves could not be found together with the two motorbikes,” a source said. The apprehended thieves were seen taken to police custody in Hai Munuki.
