Two suspects arrested over dollar counterfeiting in Juba

Police in South Sudan’s capital Juba announced that they arrested two suspects allegedly involved in money counterfeiting at Nyakuron residential area on Tuesday. Police said in a statement that the two were in a criminal group and were in possession of fake dollars, chemicals, and printing machines.

Armed men hijack a V8

A gang of around 10 armed men stole a Toyota Land Cruiser V8 model vehicle at Mobile Roundabout in Juba on the night of 27 July.

The robbers, all armed with AK-47 rifles. SPLA managed to recover the the vehicle.

Motorist shot during botched robbery

Two armed men opened fire on a boda boda driver at night after he refused to give them his motorbike in Juba on 27 July. The motorist was shot in the leg.

SPLA soldiers patrolling the area managed to arrest the suspected robbers after an exchange of fire.

Deadly car accident

One person believed to be a traffic police officer was killed in a car accident in Munuki road opposite Jerusalem Pharmacy in Suk Maleseya.

According to eyewitnesses the vehicle was a fuel truck with UNMISS plates and the driver was talking on a cell phone. The driver fled after the incident.
