Ex-Commissioner of Tiaptiap County in Gok State Joseph Lingudi Kuchok says that he will soon open a case against the Gok State Governor Madhang Majok Meen for executing a citizen of his county Mayom Gumnok Keroor publicly in February this year at Tiaptiap county headquarters in Gok state.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, he accused the State Governor of taking the law into his hands by executing people publicly without following legal procedures, because any sentence to death is meant to be confirmed by the president of the country, not a governor.
Joseph added that his uncle’s son was shot dead publicly on the orders of the governor. The governor was touring Tiaptiap County following his appointment as governor by the president of South Sudan at the time. Lingudi added that the Governor also executed two prisoners from Duony County in April this year as they were also waiting for trial and before they were to be taken to the court.
The official claimed that he removed them from Cueibet prison and took them to the forest for firing squad without the knowledge of the president.
Gok State Governor Madhang Majok Meen could not be reached for comment on the accusation.
