Foreign traders in South Sudan’s Aweil State will enjoy reduced permit fees from 16,000 SSP to 10,000 SSP, according to the state chamber of commerce.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Malong Deng Nyuany, Chairperson of the Aweil Chamber of Commerce said they had reduced the work permit fee for foreign traders.
He pointed out that the new policy is aimed at finding solutions to challenging facing foreign traders in the state, especially exorbitant taxes and other contributions being imposed on foreign investors by the state government.
Nyuany confirmed the decision went into effect on Thursday 18 20 December.
Aweil state is an important export destination for traders especially Sudanese.
