The Commissioner of Pibor County in South Sudan’s Boma state Simon Gain says there is lack of basic services in his county, especially water sources.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Commissioner Simon said that the lack of water sources in some administrative units forced local residents to migrate in search for water elsewhere in the county.
The local official pointed out that citizens in three payams are reporting acute shortages of drinking water, forcing them to look for water sources in areas near Pibor town.
“Honestly, water pumps that were previously installed by the organizations in the area are not enough, even they cannot reach 20 water pumps, and now we have five payams, we have three payams that completely lack water sources,” said Gain.
The commissioner called upon the relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to provide water for the local residents in the area.
