Complaints of education decline in Habila, South Kordofan

Numbers of primary schools in Al Kargal area in Habila town South Kordofan are reportedly deteriorating both in terms of academic performance and lack of teachers. Parents told Radio Tamazuj that the education in the area is steadily declining this year. The parents attributed the reasons to lack of teachers and textbooks within the schools.

“A single teacher runs the whole school alone in certain villages which led to poor academic performance of pupils” a source confirmed.

The stakeholders in the village revealed that schools are being run by people’s efforts without authority intervention. They pointed out that the schools were built with local materials which can be prone to collapse due to floods.

The local population appealed to the state authorities concerned to support the education sector.
