The Chamber of Commerce in Western Equatoria State last week suspended the operations of Better Future Health Living Company Ltd (BFLH) for not being certified by the state health ministry.

The Chamber of Commerce in Western Equatoria State last week suspended the operations of Better Future Health Living Company Ltd (BFLH) for not being certified by the state health ministry.

The company which among other things supplies drugs and supplements and also purportedly trains health workers was registered in South Sudan in 2021 and has been operating a few states across the country.

Armstrong Emmanuel, the secretary general of state chamber of commerce, said his Chairperson Lucky Mbakadi ordered the company to cease operations on 8 August after realizing that it was not licensed and certified by the health authorities.

“BFHL Company was given only two days to produce the necessary documents or else it will be banned from operating. They have been in Yambio since last year and have been operating without seeing the necessary offices,” he explained. “After we discovered this, we went through their documents and found that they have not acquired approval and a license from the ministry of health yet they are dealing in drugs.”

“The chamber of commerce has suspended all their services and closed their office till they obtain the relevant requirements,” Emmanuel added.

However, Fubi Andrew, the BFLH Company branch manager in Yambio, said they a processed all the relevant documents and will submit them to the chamber. It was an inconvenience which took place due to changes at the chamber of commerce,” she explained. “Our company has been suspended but not closed, because of some slight mistakes. We are expected to have some papers from the health ministry and the county health director.”

“As we are talking now, we already have papers from the police CID, National Security Service and we are going to resolve all the issues so we are not closed,” Fubi added.

The manager urged her clients not to be discouraged and reassured that the company will continue meeting their needs.

BFLH Company currently operates in all the ten states of South Sudan and in Western Equatoria, they have offices in Yambio and Maridi. The company does health scanning, supplies drugs and trains health workers.
