Police authorities in Wau State have confirmed the formation of a community policing network in all the residential areas located within the municipality.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Simon Luka Muduria, a police officer from the media department said the policy helps in reducing crimes.
Through community policing, the police can control criminal activities in different areas, he added.
Andrea Bodi Lingare, another police officer, said it is important for citizens to know the legal procedures involved if rights are violated.
He said the police legal department is ready to receive complaints from anyone, including those unfairly treated by police personnel.
Bodi, however, urged citizens to help police fight crimes in the state.
