Commissioners’ conference concludes in Amadi State

South Sudan’s Amadi state held a three-day County Commissioners conference dubbed ‘Revitalized Peace Agreement for the Nation’ concluded on Wednesday.

South Sudan’s Amadi state held a three-day County Commissioners conference dubbed 'Revitalized Peace Agreement for the Nation' concluded on Wednesday.

Manasseh Deboi the deputy governor told Radio Tamazuj that the conference discussed the dissemination of the revitalized peace accord as well cattle raiding amongst communities in the state.

"One of the outcomes of the conference was the preaching of the peace agreement in all 10 counties and the distribution of land to citizens in towns," he said.

According to Deboi, the commissioners also agreed to work together to end cattle raiding which he says is the major cause of insecurity.

He also highlighted some of the challenges facing the counties including lack of clean drinking water and fears of a looming hunger due to poor harvests.
