The Commissioner of Maban County James Basha has been relieved from office and replaced by a new appointee, Tumati Nau, according to local reports.

His replacement is supposed to have been sworn in today before the governor of Upper Nile State in Malakal.

A source told Radio Tamazuj from Maban also that they previous commissioner has been stripped of all his belongings, including his car and his home.

The same source speculated that the recent high tensions that the county has been witnessing over the last few days is related to the sudden change of commissioners.
