Commissioner: Food shortage in Jebel Boma County

The Commissioner of Jebel Boma County of Greater Pibor Administrative Area said residents in his county have not enough food, citing the isolation of the area from the rest of the country.

Beko Konyi, Commissioner of Jebel Boma County, said that he wanted to draw attention to the suffering of people in Jebel Boma County. “People find it difficult to cope with such a situation,” he said.

The official said people in Boma are eating wild fruits as shops in the county ran out of food items. “The situation is not good because people are eating wild fruits as there is no food,” the commissioner said.

Traders in the county are unable to buy goods partly because the roads are bad and also due to dollar crisis in the country.
