Civil society activist urges Wau government to open roads for farmers

The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) has urged the relevant authorities in Wau State to open up roads for citizens of Besselia and Bagari Counties so they could go to cultivate.

The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) has urged the relevant authorities in Wau State to open up roads for citizens of Besselia and Bagari Counties so they could go to cultivate.

CEPO's state coordinator Stephen Robo Musa told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that local residents of Besselia and Bagari Counties should be allowed to go for farming in order to reduce hunger in the area.

Last week, at least 18 people died of hunger in Besselia County.

Wau State is one of the states which came into existence after President Salva Kiir issued a controversial 'Establishment Order' in October 2015.
