Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Tuesday, Justin Anthony, the head of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization in Yambio said the attack resulted in the killing and wounding of several rebel fighters. However, he couldn’t confirm the exact number of casualties.

Justin revealed that the area was being controlled by the SPLA-IO rebels under command of Futu Matur. The activist noted that the government troops burned down barracks and chased the opposition forces up to Li Rangu area.

He explained that local residents in those areas fled to Yambio town during clashes, but some have started to return home.
