Civil servants in Bounchuai County receive January salary

Authorities in Bounchuai County in Aweil State said they have started paying January salaries with increment to civil and public servants per the decision of the Council of Ministers in Juba that increased the salaries of staffs owing to devaluation of the South Sudanese pound.

Speaking on Radio Tamazuj's With the Commissioners program, Bounchuai County Commissioner, Alfred Deng Mayuen, said civil servants in his county have received one moth salaries with increment based on different categories.

Commissioner Deng appreciated the state government for increasing the salaries at this difficult time, while urging the government to continue with the same effort.

Separately, Commissioner Alfred Deng admitted that the people of Bounchuai County are suffering badly from hunger.

He asked both national and International humanitarians organizations to assist before the situation worsens further. Deng predicted that many people will die of hunger if there is no quick intervention to rescue the current.
