The family and friends of the late Awadia Ajabna held a protest on Wednesday evening at their home in Dem neighbourhood in Khartoum.

Ajabna was shot and killed by a police officer outside her home in the Dem residential area on the outskirts of Sudan’s capital in 2012.

The family and members of the victim’s advocacy team protested a court order that reversed the death sentence against the police officer, Hamid Ali Hamid who killed Ajabna in 2012 granting him a release.
