Displaced citizens inside the UN Protection of Civilians’ Site (PoC) in the South Sudanese capital, Juba have rejected the National Dialogue initiative called for by President Salva Kiir.
In interviews conducted by Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, several internally displaced persons called upon the warring parties to stop the ongoing conflict and restore peace and stability in the country.
They pointed out that the National Dialogue will not succeed because fighting between government troops and rebels is still continuing in various parts of South Sudan.
“I wonder because the government is saying there is a national dialogue, while there is fighting going on. Now there is fighting in the areas of Lou Nuer, fighting in Torit and other areas,” said one of the displaced persons.
