Citizens in Mujlad town complain of rising cost of water

Citizens in Mujlad town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State have complained about rising prices of drinking water in the area.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, many citizens expressed their concern about the sharp rise in the price of water, citing that the barrel of water has risen from 10 SDG to 15 SDG.

For their part, water vendors attributed the problem to poor conditions of road leading to the only source of water in the area, saying the road was affected by heavy rains recently.

The vendors called on the relevant authorities to repair the road leading to the only cistern in the area so local residents can pay 10 SDG only for one barrel of water.
