Residents of Al Nahud town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State are reporting water supply crisis since the beginning of Ramadan due to technical malfunctions of water network.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several local residents said the water cut caused immense suffering of families in the area, while complaining about rising prices of drinking water in the area.
The local residents explained that a jerrican of water which was 15 SDG is now being sold at 25 SDG.
They accused the new commissioner of Al Nahud Mohammed Ahmed of failing to fulfil his promises that he would provide a hand pump to resolve the issue of water. The complaining local residents asked the commissioner to solve the ongoing water crisis as soon as possible.
