Citizens complain of insecurity in Torit town

Residents in Torit town in South Sudan’s Imatong State have expressed their concerns about deteriorating security situations in the area.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several citizens said that the area is witnessing rampant insecurity, forcing many families to flee to Kakuma refugee camp in neighbouring Kenya.

The complaining citizens pointed out that government troops and armed groups clashed in Mogi and Salori areas on Monday.

A citizen revealed that Torit town has been deserted, saying local residents fear that fighting could erupt between the two sides at any time.
