Citizens of Bau locality in Sudan’s Blue Nile State have complained of continuous attacks by armed pastoralists who graze their livestock in their farms.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, several residents said there has been a series of atrocities committed on the returnees at Dereng and Boleng areas, including the killing of a farmer early this week after his attackers stole his crops.
They further said government forces recently collected more than 30 pieces of firearms in the area and arrested some of the pastoralists.
The citizens pointed out that many people wanted to come back to their villages but they fear the conflict with the cattle keepers.
