Residents in Torit town in South Sudan’s Imatong State have expressed their concerns about deteriorating security along the Torit-Juba road.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, several citizens said that murder and robbery incidents have been happening along the Torit-Juba road, saying the perpetrators are bandits. The citizens claimed that there are no nearby SPLM-IO bases in the area.
A local resident said that the road is witnessing incidents of killing and looting, while calling on the government to intervene.”There are random killings against civilians and children any time along the road in Torit here, and people are always ambushed, “he said.
