Cirillo's rebel group calls for urgent humanitarian aid in South Sudan

The National Salvation Front (NAS), a new rebel group in South Sudan, called for urgent humanitarian aid and action on the humanitarian crisis facing the people of South Sudan.

“The National Salvation Front calls upon all South Sudanese citizens, and all friends of South Sudan, as individuals or organizations, to hasten to the rescue of South Sudan with any array of basic needs-medicines, clothing, cooking as well as tilling utensils,” partly reads a statement issued on Thursday.

The National Salvation Front is a rebel movement formed to fight against President Kiir’s government. The leader of the group is Lieutenant General Thomas Cirillo Swaka, formerly deputy chief of general staff for logistics in South Sudan’s army.
