Northern Bahr al Ghazal churches held joint prayers at Freedom Square in the state capital Aweil on Monday. The occasion was attended by church leaders and members of several denominations.
The stated purpose of the prayer event was to pray for the sake of South Sudan and the state to have peace and progress. Pentecostal church pastor Malong Bak Malong said that they held prayers so that God can bless the state and the country.
“We have gathered to pray for the sake of South Sudan and Northern Bahr al Ghazal because God’s wrath is so high to our land due to bad deeds we are doing,” he said.
