The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Doctors Without Borders (MSF) have started a massive cholera vaccination campaign on Thursday targeting about 200,000 people around Juba.

MSF’s deputy coordinator Aneta One told reporters during the launching of the campaign that cases of cholera have been registered in Juba.

She called on the public to cooperate with staff conducting the vaccinations and urged them not to fear the vaccinations because they are meant to eliminate the disease in the country.

Late last July the International Organisation of Migration (IOM) published a report that 18 thousand cases of Cholera had been registered in South Sudan including 328 deaths.
