Cholera claims more lives in Sudan

Police authorities in Khartoum city announced that they have found four dead bodies of street children over the past two days after they died due to cholera.

A police source told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that they received many reports about dead bodies on the streets of Khartoum over the past two days. He said they received four dead bodies and it has been confirmed that they died from cholera.

Meanwhile, residents of Taiba Al Ahamda area in Khartoum North reported that there are more than 200 cases of cholera in the area.

According to Al Ahdaath media outlet, citizens said the disease is spreading in the area and called for quick intervention from health officials and organizations to bring medicines and ensure preventive measures.

The Sudanese Doctors’ Association on Saturday said at least 8 people had died of cholera in Furshaya of South Kordofan State after more than 60 cases were reported.
