The number of cholera cases reported among residents of South Sudan’s Jonglei State reached over 100, the state minister of health said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Minister Angok Gordon said the number of cholera cases is increasing despite government efforts to fight the outbreak in the state.

“The number of the cases is on the rise and it has reached more than 100 cases, so this is the latest report I have received from all health centers and not in Bor only, but across the state,” he said.

The health official pointed out that they have already sent cholera response teams to raise awareness about cholera in the state.
