China offers $8bn for development in South Sudan

South Sudan’s information minister Barnaba Marial Benjamin announced yesterday that China has offered $8 billion dollars for development projects in hydropower, infrastructure and agriculture. The minister told Reuters that “China has offered financial funding to the value of $8 billion for major development projects.” He added that the projects will be conducted by Chinese companies.
