Children’s clothes prices spike before Eid in Abu Jebeha

Residents and displaced people at Abu Jebeha in South Kordofan complained about the increasing prices of children’s clothes in the town’s different markets, amid complaints of lack of control by authorities.

A number of citizens who spoke to Radio Tamazuj said that the prices are on the rise these days with the people’s demand to buy Eid clothes, especially for children.

The citizens said that prices continued to increase in the days before Eid al-Fitr, explaining that most families are forced to buy because of the Eid circumstances, even though they are suffering.

In addition to that some attributed the reason to the congestion of people at Abu Jebeha since the outbreak of the situation in Talodi and Alleri areas in South Kordofan which forced the majority of residents to flee to Abu Jebeha amid conditions described by most citizens as hard.

With the absence of organizations working in the humanitarian field, except for some national organizations, the needs of the displaced people are not met. Their numbers are estimated at 4000.

Some people stated that the price rise is due to the absence of control by authorities, which led to chaos of prices at the markets.
