Child abducted, two wounded in Twic East in Jonglei State

A child of about two years old was abducted and two people were wounded on Tuesday night when unknown gunmen attacked Dong Boma of Liith Payam in Twic East County.

Dau Akoi Jurkuch, Twic East County Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the attackers were identified by the wounded people as neighbors from the Murle tribe in Boma State.

Commissioner Dau on Thursday morning confirmed the wounded parents of abducted child were brought to Panyagoor hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Dau said that six children from his county have been abducted from his county since the beginning f the year by suspected raiders from neighboring Boma State. He asked the national government in Juba to think of ways to carry out disarmament and stop killings and child abduction.

In a separated news, Dau also confirmed completion of road maintenance connecting his county with the two neighboring counties of Bor and Duk county of Jonglei State this month.
