Local authorities report insecurity in Terekeka County, Central Equatoria State in South Sudan between Mundari pastoralists and Dinka herders from neighboring Jonglei State.

A local Mundary chief, Albino John, told Radio Tamazuj that there were conflicts between the two groups last week in Tali area and that the state government dispatched security forces to resolve the problem.

Albino accused the government forces of killing a woman and another person during their deployment, as well as arming the Dinka herders.

For his part, Information Minister in Central Equatoria State Soba Samuel denied knowledge about what happened in Tali area in Terkeka County, describing reports of conflict as “rumors.”

He pointed out the situation can be controlled thought a police station in the area, besides security coordination between commissioners.

Seprately, Soba disclosed that a committee to investigate Tali incidents in December last year in which 10 people were killed has been formed.
