FDP/SSAF Chairman Gabriel Changson Chang has appointed representatives in the South Sudanese diaspora in USA, Canada and Australia.
This marks another effort by the party to organize itself following the defection of several high-profile generals from FDP/SSAF to Juba.
FDP/SSAF itself broke away from the SPLM-in-Opposition in August last year, saying it would not accept the Addis Ababa peace deal. The group’s leader is based in Nairobi and its top commander Gabrel Tang-Ginye is currently in Khartoum.
In an order dated 20 April, Changson appointed James Ruach Dual as USA Representative, Changkuoth Jiath Tot as Canada Representative and Dhil Gai Tutdeal as Australia Representative.
Separately, the Acting Military Spokesperson of FDP/SSAF John Chuol Malow issued a statement from Sudan calling upon South Sudanese “to join ranks and save the country from the bad leadership of the three SPLM factions that are now awarded with 93% of the power and leaving only 7% to the other political parties.”
Chuol pointed out that the peace agreement leaves out several political groups and armed groups including FDP/SSAF, Agwelek and Yoanis Okich groups in the Upper Nile region, ‘Arrow Boys’ and other groups in Equatoria and gorups in Western Bahr el Ghazal.
