CEPO congratulates activist Malual Bol for receiving 2017 Voices of Courage award

A leading civil society organization in South Sudan has congratulated activist Malual Bol Kiir for receiving the 2017 Voices of Courage award.

A leading civil society organization in South Sudan has congratulated activist Malual Bol Kiir for receiving the 2017 Voices of Courage award.

Bol is the founder of African Youth Action Network (AYAN), an organization operating in neighboring Uganda.

The 2017 Voices of Courage award was given to Bol because of his continued effort to bring together the divided South Sudanese refugees youth in Uganda.

In a press release dated May 14, Edmund Yakani , Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), said Malual Bol deserve the award because he exerted great efforts to unite the South Sudanese refugees in Uganda.

“He deserves to be appreciated, awarded and congratulated for his remarkable efforts which embrace South Sudanese community based on the principle of non-discrimination and equality,” said Yakani.

“Malual Bol Kiir was among our top nominees for the award when we were consulted among best South Sudanese youth refugees initiative. CEPO knew Bol through his work in the refugee camps in Uganda,” he added.

CEPO encouraged South Sudan youth to work for building South Sudan that embraces equity, non-violence and non-discrimination.
