A leading civil society organization in South Sudan has commended the SPLA leadership for its campaign to vacate homes belonging to the conflict-displaced people that were occupied by squatters in Jub after the outbreak of civil war in 2013, describing the move as “encouraging and motivating”.
In a statement issued on Friday and seen by Radio Tamazuj, Edmund Yakani, Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) said the commitment of the SPLA leadership in ensuring that illegal occupation of homes belonging to internally displaced persons in Juba city is resolved is a demonstration of will to ensure that right to adequate standard of living is observed.
Yakani stressed on the need for South Sudanese to take responsibility for settling disputes over genuine matters.
CEPO urged the SPLA leadership to take more actions that contribute to stability and encourage citizens to leave the UN camps.
Santo Domic, Deputy Military Spokesman of the SPLA army, said in a previous statement to Radio Tamazuj that their campaign to vacate homes of the conflict-displaced people that were occupied illegally in Juba is progressing very well.
