Central Equatoria state’s caretaker Governor Juma Ali Malou continued his tour of the state’s six counties on Monday.
The Minister of Cabinet and Parliamentary Affairs Wani Tom Sebit told parliament the visits are to gather first-hand information on the lives of citizens to inform future policy.
This follows his visit to the Juba payams last week, as well as the home payam of Vice President James Wani Igga, Lobonok Payam.
This week Malou is expected to visit Lainya, Yei, Morobo and Kajo Keji, before turning to his home county, Terekeka.
The governor is making those trips just days after gunmen in Lainya County ambushed and killed at least six people traveling from Yei to Juba.
Also, on Monday, the state cabinet delivered the 2015/16 budget to the State Assembly.
Sebit handed the document over to Speaker Naphtali Hassan Gale. He attributed the delay to the changes in the state government.
Gale said the budget would be considered in the next sitting tomorrow, before the house breaks for Christmas.
