Central Equatoria Deputy Governor, other top officials, axed

President Salva Kiir on Thursday night sacked the Central Equatoria State Deputy Governor, Sarah Nene Redento, in changes that affected several other top officials.

He replaced her with Paulino Lokudu Obede in a decree broadcasted on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Cooperation (SSBC). Both are members of the Other Political Parties (OPP). Kiir also sacked Andruga Saverino Mabe, the Central Equatoria State Information Minister, and replaced him with Rambo John Paul Isaac. Both are also OPP members.

In other decrees on the Central Equatoria, President Kiir sacked Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa, the Commissioner for Yei River County from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Emmanuel Khamis Richard Luka, the Lainya County Commissioner (SPLM), and Joseph Mawa John Akuba, Morobo County Commissioner (SPLM).

He appointed Emmanuel Taban Seme, Commissioner for Yei River County (SPLM), Robert John Morris Lasu, Lainya County Commissioner (SPLM), and Charles Tata Bullen Morobo County Commissioner (SPLM).

Kiir also revoked the appointment of Paulino Lokudu Obede (OPP), and Uchan Donato Deng, Western Bahr el-Ghazal State (OPP) as a lawmaker in the Upper House of Parliament, the Council of States. He replaced them with Sarah Nene Redento, Central Equatoria (OPP), and Natale Uguak Bolo, Western Bahr el Ghazal (OPP).  

In Eastern Equatoria, Kiir sacked Siama Nartisio Molong, the State Advisor on Legal Affairs, National Agenda, Joseph Opiyo Wilson, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs (OPP), and Jacob Atari Albano, the Commissioner of Torit County, (OPP).

He appointed Pierina Lawino Okeny Lobong, State Advisor on Legal Affairs, from National Agenda, Dr Peter Gumbo Ungang, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs (OPP), and Christopher Andrew Philipson Abili, the Commissioner for Torit County (OPP).

Kiir appointed Daniel Akot Akot from the SPLM-IO, the Deputy Speaker of the Northern Bahr el-Ghazal State Parliament.

In the Transitional National Legislature, Kiir revoked the appointment of Jich Chuol Gai, from Unity State (OPP), and Phillip Giben Ogal, from Western Bahr el Ghazal (OPP) and replaced them with Moses Pieng Deng, from Unity State (OPP), and Peter Joseph Ukel Abang Western Bahr el-Ghazal State (OPP)

The President also sacked Nyiel Gordon Kuol as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank as well as a member of the board of directors of the Bank, and replaced her with Gan Samuel Bogo.
